Our TeamA New Leaf Naturopathic Clinic offers the lower mainland a “one-stop-shop” for alternative medicine. The practitioners—Dr. Alison Vandekerkhove, Dr.Cathryn Coe, Dr. Nicole Cerf and Dr. Susan Steeves—combine a wide range of approaches to naturopathic healthcare including, acupuncture, bio-identical hormone prescription, spinal manipulation, deep tissue massage, prolotherapy, neural therapy, IV therapies, nutritional support, homeopathy, herbal treatments and prescriptions. At A New Leaf, patients also enjoy the convenience of in house laboratory testing to better discern the root of their health concerns. These tests range from food sensitivities to hormone panels. A New Leaf is on the cutting edge of naturopathic medicine. The clinic’s practitioners are committed to continually learning and evolving as naturopathic physicians and are driven to work with patients, as well as their existing medical team, to resolve the hidden causes of chronic disease. Dr. Vandekerkhove , Dr. Coe and Dr. Cerf and Dr. Steeves  prioritize working together with patients to adapt treatments to each patient’s unique lifestyle choices. All doctors at A New Leaf  have full prescription rights.

Dr. Alison Vandekerkhove

Dr. Alison VandekerkhoveDr. Alison Vandekerkhove earned a Bachelor of Science Degree from the University of British Columbia and went on to study as a pioneer student at the Boucher Institute of Naturopathic Medicine. Dr. Vandekerkhove, affectionately known by patients as Dr. Alison, treats a wide array of health concerns from infant and children’s health to seniors’ concerns. She is particularly interested in treating arthritis, digestive health, hormonal imbalances, anxiety, cardiovascular health, allergies, and skin conditions. Dr. Alison is a strong believer in scientific-based holistic health care. Beyond being a licensed Naturopathic physician, Dr. Alison has further training in breastfeeding counseling, chelation therapy, prolotherapy, intervenous therapy and acupuncture.

Dr. Cathryn Coe

Dr. Cathryn CoeDr. Cathryn Coe is a graduate from the University of British Columbia and the Boucher Institute of Naturopathic Medicine. In her practice as a licensed Naturopathic Physician, Dr. Coe emphasizes patient education and good communication. Among the many diseases seen in practice, Dr. Coe has special interests in fibromyalgia and related disorders, allergies and sensitivities, stress management, mental and emotional health, hormonal health for men and women, as well as childhood illnesses and autoimmune diseases.  Dr. Coe welcomes invitations to speak for community groups and organizations. Dr. Coe has additional certification in acupuncture and regularly attends courses and conferences in Naturopathic Medicine to stay current with the latest research in this field.

Dr. Nicole Cerf

Dr. Nicole CerfDr. Cerf is a graduate from the University of the Fraser Valley and Boucher Institute of Naturopathic Medicine.  Dr. Cerf treats a wide variety of health concerns including allergies, cardiovascular conditions, digestive complaints, hormonal imbalances, mood disorders, musculoskeletal injuries, skin conditions, and has a special interest in developmental disorders(Autism/ASD, PDD, ADHD). Dr. Cerf educates and empowers patients to take charge of their health. Dr. Cerf is a member of the CNPBC, BCNA, and is board certified in acupuncture and chelation.

Dr. Susan Steeves

Dr. Susan SteevesDr. Steeves was conferred a Bachelor of Science Degree in Dietetics from the University of British Columbia and was later awarded her doctorate in Naturopathic Medicine. Dr. Steeves strongly believes nutrition is the cornerstone to good health and longevity.Her background in dietetics alongside her naturopathic training serves her well to treat and diagnose ailments including but not limited to food sensitivities, weight gain, Irritable bowel Syndrome, constipation or simply chronic gas and bloating. Dietary choices also contribute to chronic pain; particularly migraines, muscles aches and depression. Dr. Steeves has a keen interest in hormones and uses a variety of modalities to treat these imbalances. As a Naturopath, she brings an integrated approach, using the best of science and holistic care, to each appointment to provide patient centered- care. As an ND with prescribing authority, Dr. Steeves is well positioned to take care of most family needs. I addition, she is trained in Acupuncture, Neural Therapy, Intervenous Therapy, Advanced Cardiac Life Support and Mesotherapy.

 Sally, Elaine , Paula, Rachelle, Carla

A New Leaf’s reception  team, Sally, Elaine, Paula, Rachelle and Carla instantly make patients feel comfortable and welcome when they come into the clinic. They will greet you with a smile and will likely offer you a cup of tea while you wait for your appointment. A critical component of the clinic’s team, these ladies take care of the nuts and bolts of life at A New Leaf, managing the dispensary, checking-in patients, booking appointments, conducting research, and, of course, running around after the doctors making sure everything is filed in the right place!

Elaine, and Rachelle make up A New Leaf's Laboratory team. Elaine has many years of experience in the naturopathic field.  At  A New Leaf  she manages the Lab and IV's. With her kind and compassionate nature she makes patients feel comfortable and at ease during their treatments.
