Candida Intensive Culture:
Candida albicans is a condition that is the result of yeast overgrowth within the gastrointestine. It is becoming more and more common in response to increased use of antibiotics and oral contraceptives, high sugar and starch diets, stress, and chlorinated water. Candida is also associated with female hormones. Estradiol, a form of estrogen, protects Candida from heat and oxidative stress and enables the bacteria to flourish. The Candida yeast releases toxic by-products which can cause the following symptoms:
- Headaches
- Fatigue
- Sinusitis
- Inability to Concentrate
- Low Sex Drive
- Recurrent Vaginitis
- Skin Irritations
- Failing Vision
- Bloating
- Constipation
- Diarrhea
- Acid Reflux
- Anxiety
- Depression
- Joint Pain
A New Leaf’s Great Smokies’ Laboratories Candida Intensive Culture uses blood and stool samples to assess the Candida growth concentration in the body. It helps determine the body’s immunological response to Candida by measuring blood antibodies, thereby measuring not only past and present exposure to Candida, but also helping the doctor to establish the likelihood of Candida as the cause of systematic symptoms in the future.
