Mesotherapy

Over the past 50+ years, more than 15,000 physicians worldwide have used Mesotherapy on a daily basis for a variety of purposes, including over all weight loss, spot weight reduction, cellulite reduction, hair loss, scar revision and wrinkle elimination. Mesotherapy is a technique developed in 1952 by Dr. Michel Pistor, where herbs, nutrients and mild anesthetics are injected into the fatty layer below the skin.

Who is a candidate for mesotherapy?

Mesotherapy is great for people who are in great shape but can’t get rid of a pocket of stubborn fat. If your goal is weight loss, body contouring or cellulite reduction and you are in good health- you are probably a candidate for mesotherapy. If you are pregnant, breastfeeding, insulin dependant diabetic, have severe heart disease, or cancer this is not a treatment for you. Also medications for heart arrhythmias, or blood thinners are contraindicated with this treatment. Mesotherapy is not used to reduce fatty tumors or breast tissue in women.

How does Mesotherapy Work?

The nutrients and medications used in Mesotherapy melt the fat beneath the skin and shrink fat cells. Soon after treatment the fat dissolves (as it would in typical weight loss), and is carried through the blood stream and excreted through the kidneys and bowels.

Cellulite is connective tissue bands holding down the skin, trapping the fat and thereby causing the "dimpling"" effect. Mesotherapy eliminates the connective tissue bands and melts the trapped fat, creating a smooth, dimple-free appearance.

Typical Results from Mesotherapy?

Mesotherapy results are measured in inches. When the fat is melted under the skin, about one pound of fat per week is lost. The Mesotherapy treatment is applied to arms, waist, hips , back, and legs. A typical patient can lose up to two dress sizes with multiple treatments. Patients have lost up to four inches on their waist, hips, and thighs.
