Clinic Manager & MLA

I started at A New Leaf Naturopathic Clinic in March of 2016 as both a lab assistant and receptionist. After finishing my MLA training at Stenberg, I interviewed for an available position here at A New Leaf which combined reception and lab work, allowing me to work with people in a facilitating and tactile way. As clinic manager and MLA here at A New Leaf, I get to create an environment in the lab for children and adults who are anxious about blood draws by making them feel as comfortable as possible; whether that means telling knock-knock jokes, or letting the patients lie down and get comfy with blankets and pillows.

I appreciate the fact that I work with a team who values and encourages a balance between work, family, and health for patients and staff. As opposed to working in a lab or hospital, I have the chance to get to know patients by name and the conversations I get to have with patients either in the lab, IV room, or front desk end up being the highlight of my day.
